The group's an obscure Philly outfit who never managed to find fame – yet they've got a tight sound that's right up there with the best in the indie soul scene of the time – an approach that starts out heavy on upbeat rhythms, but also manages to slide into some warmer mellow grooves too – balancing out the album with a full, rich sound that's mighty nice!
