No Limit On Love

LP, Vinyl record album

4.50 11

A record of tracks recorded before Barry White's superstar years – but released during them to cash in on his big success. The work's still pretty good, though – and it's interesting to hear Barry working in an earlier mode than his slick 70s work. Some material features Barry singing, and the rest is by the Barry White Orchestra – a precursor to Love Unlimited Orchestra. Tracks include "Come On In Love", "Under The Influence Of Love", "Fragile – Handle With Care", and "Out Of The Shadows Of Love".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

King, 1970. Very Good-
Further genius from James Brown at the start of the 70s – a record that's starting to show some of the more open-ended grooves he'd explore with the JBs on their own albums – longer, stretched-out tracks that are way more than simple funk and soul! There's a sense of freewheeling ... LP, Vinyl record album
Oh Girl
Atlantic, 1972. Near Mint-
Wicked electric funk from Young Holt Unlimited – and a real departure from the sound of their 60s albums, and a step into a groove that's very 70s-styled overall! The album's heavy on Fender Rhodes – played not just by group member Ken Chaney, but also by a young Bobby Lyle – ... LP, Vinyl record album
