An excellent album of funky tracks from War – perhaps a bit overlooked next to their classic albums with soul hits, but a really sophisticated batch of tracks that shows the band growing and growing even more over the years! The record's got a killer style that mixes jazz funk with a freer jamming style borrowed from Latin music – and the result is a batch of long tracks that really let the band open up and groove! The set includes the classic jammer "Me & Baby Brother", plus "H2 Overture", "Blisters", "Southern Part Of Texas", "In Your Eyes", and "Gypsy Man". (In the original die-cut cover with the heavy inner sleeve. Cover has a sticker on front.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Brass Construction II
United Artists, 1976. Near Mint-
The second album from Brass Construction – heavy horns, basslines, and stellar dancefloor grooves – a stone classic! The first one was totally great, but they cast a wider stylistic claim on II – their trademark funky sound is still very firmly in place, but they bring more to ... LP, Vinyl record album
United Artists, Mid 60s. Very Good+
Like the first volume, this isn't so much a collection of "oldies" so much as it is a tasty set of hard to find numbers from the United Artists label – including some killer soul and jazz numbers that are pretty darn hard to track down on LP. The record features two great ones from ... LP, Vinyl record album

The title track to this one – "Right Back Where We Started From – was a real 70s monster, hitting big on AM radio and the dancefloors, and still kind of a guilty pleasure for us these days. Feel It
United Artists, 1979. Very Good+
Great work from Noel Pointer – one of the leading lights in the United Artists soul spectrum at the end of the 70s! As with other Pointer sets from the time, there's a pretty strong fusion undercurrent here – a groove that's built up from Noel's own work on electric violin, plus some ... LP, Vinyl record album

Chi Sound/United Artists, 1978. Near Mint-
Sophisticated soul from the great Walter Jackson – one of the best voices ever to come out of the Chicago soul scene, and a wonderful interpreter of just about any material! The Ingram Family was all over this one – as Barbara Ingram handled the vocal arrangements, and Butch, John, James, and William arranged the instrumenta songs.
