Two great lost numbers from one of our favorite soul artists of all time! "I Can Take Care" is a rolling midtempo number, with that loping Chi soul groove that Gene was working in afer his early Vee Jay sides. Gene's vocals really send us – especially on the the chorus, when they go over the top! "Mr Big Shot" is a great cut too – with a strumming guitar underneath the beat, in kind of a hip mod style that's a real surprise to hear from Gene! There's some backup vocals on the chorus, but the verse has Gene rolling ahead full steam.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

One of the coolest cuts we've heard so far from Charles Walker – a really well-grounded, well-rounded soul number that's way more than just deep funk with old school vocals! There's a soaring swing to "Still Can't" that really gets us right away – and by the time the hook ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

It's got the raw ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

A funky funky riffer from Charles Bradley and his Bullets! The first funky outing we've ever heard from The Budos Band – but a really tasty funky set, with a raw and stripped-down feel! "Up From The South" is a chugging, churning mass of snapping drum breaks and scratchy guitar – topped by a well-crafted horn part that comes in as ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
