Although she began her career as more of a hard soul diva, this LP from the late 70's is a bit of an attempt to turn her into a club diva. The track "Queen Of The Disco" would be the biggest proof of this, but there's also a bunch of nice cuts that have more of a soul feel to them, and the set does include arrangements by David VanDepitt and McKinley Jackson, who do a good job of getting the best out of Ruby. Tracks include "A Change Is Gonna Come", "A Love Feeling", "A Little Fixin Up", and "I Wanna Be Near You". Earl Van Dyke plays keyboards, too! A masterpiece of funky soul – and one of the greatest albums of the early 70s!
