Echoland –A Tribute To Timbaland EP (colored vinyl)

LP (Item 602368) Ubiquity, 2012 — Condition: New Copy

A killer EP from Adrian Quesada's Echocentrics project – a nice little tribute to one of the most vital hip hop producer/artists of the past couple decades! From Grupo Fantasma to Ocote Soul Sounds, Brownout and Echocentrics, every project we've heard that Quesada's been a part of has worked with sprawling musical influences – so it's not surprising that he'd adapt Timbo's style into a moody, groovy mold of his own. But we are surprised at how far he's able to take it on the handful of tracks here. It's a credit to both Timbaland and The Echoscentrics that it works so well! Tita Lima sings on the great cover of the Timbaland-produced Aaliyah classic "We Need A Resolution", but it's a mostly instrumental affair. Keys, drums and violin add texture to the swirling laidback mood funk & soul. Other tracks include "Hola Hovito", "Raise Up", "We Need A Resolution" (Instrumental)" and "Party People".
