Things Are Getting Too Casual (plus download)
LP (Item 583986) Fat Beats, 2011 — Condition: New Copy
Raucous modern funk from CSC Funk Band – the group's full length debut following a couple of great singles that found focusing as much on the frayed edges of their sound as much as do a tight core groove – and the take take it even further on the excellent Things Are Getting Too Casual! We love that the band shows a true love of late 60s and especially 70s funk in it's many forms without ever really setting out to replicate the old school. They have a thoroughly modern melting pot of a vibe – with funky drums, brass (and oboe!), organ and percussion as well as strains of psychedelic rock, Latin percussion, and influences from the Caribbean to the Middle East – but again, there's no precise genre interpretations, it all goes into a unique groove that's pretty much all their own. Includes "Caneca", "We Don't Care", "Little Business", "Fiesta", "Funk Shoppe", "Old Motel", "A Troll's Soiree" and more. 8 tracks on the vinyl. (Vinyl includes code for digital album download plus bonus tracks.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
