Killer early soul by Leroy Hutson – and a record that really shows him opening up as a vocalist and songwriter! Leroy's style is not as smooth and polished as on later albums, and the record's got a bit of a rougher soul edge and a strong early 70s radio sound. Includes the wonderful soul classic "So In Love With You", a sweet mellow ballad that's extremely catchy, plus the moog-based funky instrumental "Gettin It On", a totally great number that often gets overlooked – and the cuts "Love Oh Love", "As Long As There's Love Around", and "Time Brings On A Change". Solid, mellow soul from Chicago in the seventies, with a sweet soul vibe, and great Curtom production.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Executive Suite 1
Polydor, 1974. New Copy (reissue)
A gem of a full-length set from Executive Suite – a Philly quartet who are probably best known for their singles in the 70s, but who really find a great way to open up here in the course of an expanded album! Some of the tracks are nice and long – done in a two-part style that really ... LP, Vinyl record album

Miami
TK/Drive, 1978. New Copy (reissue)
Cool compressed sounds from Miami – a group who are still plenty funky on this rare third album, but one who've also found a great way to serve up their groove as well! The combo's even sharper on the rhythms than ever before – and have a style that's a bit like that key evolution ... LP, Vinyl record album

Brunswick, 1970. New Copy (reissue)
Seminal work from one of the 70s greatest groups! Kent, Early 70s. New Copy (reissue)
Rudy Ray Moore's second album, and almost hipper than the first – thanks to some key musical backings from The Fillmore St Soul Rebellion! The vibe here is as rough and raw as you'd expect – a no-holds-barred version of party records, with Rudy using plenty of language hardly heard ... LP, Vinyl record album

Curtom, 1975. New Copy (reissue)
A great album by Curtis Mayfield – filled with some excellent lesser-known gems! There's No Place Like America was Curtis' scathing testament to the State Of The Union – and it's got a hip political tone that's right up there with the best of his early 70s songwriting – perhaps ... Curtis/Live!
Curtom, 1971. New Copy 2LP (reissue)
We think this may be his best album ever! Caught live at a small club, with a tight band, Curtis delivers extended, intimate versions of some of his best work, like "We the People Who Are Darker Than Blue" and "Stare and Stare". We can't recommend this highly enough, and there' ... LP, Vinyl record album

Now Again, Early 70s. New Copy 2LP
A funky treasure trove from Apple & The Three Oranges – a group we hardly know at all, but who really blow us away with the cuts on this collection! The groove is plenty hard right from the get-go – the best of the funky 45 underground of the early 70s – which means that ... LP, Vinyl record album

All Or Nothing
Norton, 2013. New Copy
Brand new solo work from La La Brooks of The Crystals – a singer who first worked with Phil Spector when she was only 13 years old – and who still sounds pretty darn great all these many years later! The folks at Norton have kept the record strongly in an old school 60s soul mode ... LP, Vinyl record album
