Teacherman/Jekyll & Hyde

Temporarily Out Of Stock

Add Item to Want List
7-inch (Item 487323) Soul 7/Jazzman (UK), Mid 70s -- Condition: New Copy

Funky 70s soul from the Buffalo scene -- a killer couple of tunes from Barbara St Clair -- from Soul 7/Jazzman! The production is excellent, well above par for the majors at the time, let alone a regional indie -- and Barbara's voice floats over it wonderfully, with funky rhythms, punchy brass, and a fantastic groove. The flip "Jekyll & Hyde" is just as nice, again with a bottom end of bass and drums funk, keys, and a top notch sound all they way. It's hard to believe tunes this good languished in obscurity for so long! (Limited edition of 500 copies.)  © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
