LP, Vinyl record album

4.90 32

One of Hugh's more poppy efforts, but still a nice batch of instrumentals with a good Afro soul groove to them, and the jaunty trumpet sound that was Hugh's stock in trade at the time. Tracks include "Actin' Like A Fool", "If I Needed Someone", "Sounds Of Silence", "Along Comes Mary", "It's Not Unusual", and "From Me To You". (In great shape – save for one slightly bent corner on the cover.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Al Green Is Love
Hi Records, 1975. Very Good+
Heavenly soul doesn't get any more heavenly than this! Al's at the height of his powers here, and even though there aren't as many hits on the record, it's still got plenty of nice moments, and the usual stone cold Hi Records soul groove that works beautifully with Green's warmly compressed vocals. ... Abandoned Luncheonette
Atlantic, 1973. Very Good-
A wonderful step forward for the team of Hall & Oates – and a set that has them moving more into soul than ever before!
