7-inch (Item 516179) Truth & Soul, 2011 — Condition: New Copy

A straight up funky soul treasure from the late career instant classic My World LP by Lee Fields & The Expressions – his ode to the "Ladies" and such a standout moment on the album – tightened up just a bit on this great 45 edit courtesy of Truth & Soul's own DJ Akalepse! "Ladies" is one of our favorite songs, from one of favorite albums, by one of our favorite, still-active oracle's of the classic funk era – we don't know how much more needs to said! A nice little bit of guitar opens it up for some funky bass and drums, sweetened with a wave of strings as Lee's voice comes in, as it builds to an unforgettable, feverishly funky peak! The instrumental version on the flip.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
