Masterpiece
LP (Item 40016) Warner, 1985 — Condition: Used
A hard title to carry for most groups, but just about any release by the Isley Brothers is a masterpiece in our book! Even at this mid 80s point, the Brothers sound great – sliding along in some warm mellow tracks that make the album really worth owning – the kind of laidback soul tunes they first started crafting so well in the previous decade, and which continue to sparkle here – even amidst some more programmed rhythms. The group do a surprisingly wonderful job on a Phil Collins tune – "If Leaving Me Was Easy" – sliding along in really spare space that's just like the old days – and other cuts include the smooth stepper "Colder Are My Nights", plus "Release Your Love", "The Most Beautiful Girl", "Come To Me", "You Never Know When You're Gonna Fall In Love", and "May I". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
