The Italian sound of the 60s lives again – in this fresh set of work from pianist Luca Mannutza, and his ultra-hip Sound Six combo! The sextet has a wonderful way of reaching back into the past, grabbing up the best elements of Italian jazz, and moving it forward strongly into the 21st Century – almost a summation of the excellent work heard on other titles on the Albore label, served up to perfection here by a lineup that also includes Andy Gravish on trumpet, Max Ionata on tenor, Paolo Recchia on alto, Renato Gattone on bass, and Andrea Nunzi on drums!
