A great New York group – and one that features the heavy frontline talents of Joe Magnarelli on trumpet, Jerry Weldon on tenor, and Peter Bernstein on guitar – plus razor-sharp rhythms from Spike Wilner on piano, Neal Miner on bass, and Joe Strasser on drums! As you'd guess from the players involved, there's a great sort of swing to the lineup – a rock-solid, soulfully-grooving approach to the music that gets going right from the start – and really takes off with the album's extended tracks, which offer up plenty of room for solo explorations.
