Mad Dog
CD (Item 619190) Kronos (Germany), 1984 — Condition: New Copy
Music as compelling as the cover image on the record – thanks to a mighty score from Francesco De Masi! The mood is more western than you might expect – mixed with a bit of crime, too – and handled with an orchestral richness that you don't always get in Italian film scores of this period – much more the sort of wide-ranging sound we'd expect from one of Francesco's classics from the late 60s. There's some great "arch" moments in the music – those points when the sound is dripping with evil, then offset by some more triumphant passages that really help keep spirits high. CD features new remastering of this great music – with tracks that include "Run & Friendship", "Wild Animal", "Robson Kidnapping", "After Firing", "Horses & Prairies", "The Police Connection", and "My Last Way".
