Rare music composed by Maurice Jarre – done relatively early in his career of work for feature films, but also some of his best! The album features new recordings of music from four early 60s movies – Pleins Feux Sur L'Assassin, Les Dimanches De Ville D'Avray, Judex, and Les Animaux – all Jarre music that was never issued on older soundtrack albums – which makes this collection even more essential! The recording is quite faithful to the spirit of older soundtrack music – nothing too contemporary at all, which means that all the tracks here definitely feel as if they were lifted from early 60s films – although with arguably better sound overall. The package features full notes in English and French – and the depth of Jarre's music is wonderful – far past what we might have expected from his bigger hits of later years.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Wonderful wonderful stuff – exactly the kind of mod soundtrack we've really come to love from the legendary Piero Piccioni! The music's a very cool blend of jazz and more 60s-styled rhythms – including some groovers in the "jerk" or "shake" modes – all served ... CD
La Moglie Giovane
Beat (Italy), 1974. New Copy
A warm and sexy score from Stelvio Cipriani – penned with a beautiful blend of woodwinds, keyboards, and sweet bossa-styled grooves! There's a bit more fullness here than in some of Cipriani's more erotic work, and a bit more groove too – although most of the music moves at a ... CD

Beat (Italy), 1959. New Copy
An excellent jazz soundtrack from Piero Piccioni – captured at a great early point in his film career, when he was still mixing in lots of elements from his work in jazz as well! The style here echoes some of the French jazz soundtracks of the new wave – and the tunes often sport ... CD

A female doctor in a military hospital – with all the goofy results you could expect from an Italian sex comedy! Piero Umiliani's music definitely matches the mood of the piece – plenty playful at most points, with styles that move between clever themes, odd melodies, and some sweeter, ... CD

A sweetly sexy set from the great Nico Fidenco – easily one of the most reliable sources for porno sounds in the 70s! The album's got a slinky feel that really matches its cover image, and the film's tale of sex in an exotic locale – backed with music from Fidenco that's heavy on ... CD
Roma Violenta
Beat (Italy), 1975. New Copy
One of the greatest Italian crime soundtracks of all time – a totally groovy little record that's done in a style that's quite different than American crime scores of the time, but still completely wonderful! Most of the instrumentation here is relatively spare – almost a small combo ... CD
Porno Holocaust

Ouch – what a cover! The image is so graphic, it makes the grooves on the record sound tame by comparison! Yet given that the soundtrack's done by Nico Fidenco – well-known for his sexy work of the 70s – there's plenty of great stuff going on here – a mix of Italian and ... CD

Righteous (UK), Late 50s/Early 60s. New Copy
Mindblowing instrumentals from the early years of rock – hardly the conventional sounds of the time, and instead some really incredible tracks that seem to make as much use of early studio tricks as they do of the instrumentation! The blend of studio and music is completely cool on these ... CD
