Live In New York City 1964/Live In Mexico 1974 (green colored vinyl)
LP (Item 614987) BB, 1964/1974 — Condition: New Copy
A host of great recordings from the legendary Joao Gilberto – some from New York in the 60s, others from Mexico in the 70s – and all of them great! The New York sides have a classic bossa approach throughout – spare and sensitive, and with elements that are almost like some of Joao's studio recordings of the period. The Mexico material is even better, though – with that lighter-than-air and nicely mature feel that Gilberto brought to his sublime studio album from 1973 – recorded here with some very light percussion, a touch of strings, and haunting flute – all of which seem to make the music sparkle even more! These Mexican titles include "Eclipse", "Besame Mucho", "O Sapo", "Esperanca Perdid", "Farolito", and "Astronauta". (Limited to 500 copies & pressed on clear green vinyl.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
