Groovy sounds from the French scene of the 60s – a brilliant array of tracks from the comedies of Louis De Funes – most of which were scored by Raymond Lefevre! There's a sprightly, playful feel to the work that's very very nice – and many of the tunes have a groovy, mod sort of feel – with some shake and "yeh yeh" moments that are often topped with a brassy finish! The music's just the sort of thing you might imagine for comedic chase and action scenes – and most of the material on here is from DeFunes "Gendarme" series of films – with work from movies that include Le Gendarme A New York, Le Gendarme De Saint Tropez, Le Gendarme Se Marie, Le Gendarme En Balade, and Le Gendarme Et Les Extra-Terrestres – plus other tracks from the films Les Grandes Vacances, Le Tatoue, La Zizanie, Sur Un Abre Perche, and Le Grand Restaurant. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
