If You Want This Love
LP (Item 76407) Aura, Mid 60s — Condition: Used
Bluesy vocals from Sonny Knight – a great little singer with a style that's a bit like some of Johnny Guitar Watson's early work! There's kind of rasp, or catch in Sonny's singing style – making the tunes sound really heartfelt and personal – a factor that's increased even more by the album's strong orchestrations by Bobby Smith. Bobby scored for Gloria Lynne back in the 60s, and the music on this set has a similar blend of strings and soul, with a nice touch of jazz. Titles include "Love Me", "Coldest Cat In Town", "I Need Your Love", "Confidential", and "I Just Called To Say Hello". (Cover has some seam splitting. Spine has one spot of old tape and a small rip.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
