Jazzy funk from Mississippi-born piano groover James Matthews & his quartet – featuring Freddie Washington on tenor, Jon Mixion on bass and Kenny Kooch on drums! "Ironstein" is one his rare early 45 sides, originally released on his own IT label. Each player gets ample space to groove, with some truly exceptional work on the drums, along with a great sax solo and sweet lead Matthews on the keys.
