Hot N Sassy
CD (Item 444819) A&M/Vinyl Masterpiece (Netherlands), 1982 -- Condition: New Copy
Freaky spandex and a mighty nice groove -- a record that sounds a lot better than you might guess from the group's outfits on the cover! Magic Lady are a trio of funky females -- grooving in a style that's a bit like the Brides Of Funkenstein, but a lot more stripped-down -- an 80s-tuned sound that's heavy on basslines and keyboards, and which vamps along tightly in clubby arrangements from producer Michael Stokes, who also plays keyboards on the album alongside Greg Phillinganes. The whole thing's got a nicely polished sound that's almost in the Kleeer mode, especially on the mellower and more midtempo numbers -- and tracks include "When We Love", "Freaky", "Hold Tight", "Give It Up", "Shake", "Get Off", and "Red Hot Stuff". © 1996-2010, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | |||||
