A treasure trove of work from Pery Ribeiro – an important Brazilian singer in the early years of bossa nova – and one who never got his due up here in the US! Pery's a singer who's rooted in jazz, but whose style turned out to be a perfect fit for the new modes of the bossa generation – recorded here in a mix of great arrangements that go from larger jazzy ensembles to more intimate combos – always with a strong focus on his expressive lead vocals! The package features all original albums with full artwork, and there's also a huge amount of bonus tracks too – material from singles, compilations, and other rare recordings during these very productive years for Pery. The package features the full albums Eu Gotso Da Vida (1961), Pery Ribeiro E Seu Mundo De Cancoes Romanticas (1962), Pere E Toda Bossa (1963), Pery Muito Mais Bossa (1964), and Pery (1965) – plus the album Encontro (1966) done with the Bossa 3 trio, and the classic Gemini V Show (1965), with some vocals by Leny Andrade and backing by the Bossa 3!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
