Hank Mobley's Second Message
LP (Item 60399) Prestige, 1956 — Condition: New Copy
Strong pre-Blue Note material from Mobley – ostensibly a blowing session, but much tighter than most on Prestige in that format – played to perfection with a real hardbop edge! The tracks are long and with a deeply soulful quality – Mobley's tenor alone worth the price of the record, but supported here strongly by a cast of players that features Kenny Dorham, Walter Bishop Jr, Doug Watkins, and Art Taylor. Titles go way past the obvious, too – and tracks include "Xlento", "Crazeology", "The Latest", and "Message From The Border". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
