A treasure trove of rare work from Dutch singer Rita Reys – one of the best jazz vocalists on the European scene during the postwar years! Rita's got this way of singing deeply, yet still keeping things swinging – a really great balance that has her never getting too emotive, certainly not in ways you might normally associate with European singers – yet also still managing to bring a great sort of depth to her music! Jazz formats dominate throughout – and these rare archive sessions feature Rita singing with the groups of Pim Jacobs, Piet Van Dijk, Bo Edgar, Ove Lind, Mat Mathews, and Lars Gullin – all with a great deal of clarity, every bit as much as you'd hear from Reys' studio recordings of the period.
