Francesco De Masi's soundtrack to the original Inglorious Bastards, aka Counterfeit Commandos – the seedy little 70s Italian-made war yarn with Fred Williamson and Bo Svenson that influenced Tarantino's not-really-a-remake! De Masi's symphonic suite and live orchestrations bring a triumphant sweep, as the best Italian soundtrack composers of the era did, just pulpy enough, and provide the right levels of dramatic sounds. Great stuff!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Get Back (Italy), 1967. New Copy (reissue)
A killer 60s soundtrack! The score was written for a strange biker film that starred Marianne Faithfull and Alain Delon – and it's filled with lots of driving grooves, wailing organ lines, and jangly guitar parts. The whole thing's strung together with occasional sound effects, giving the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Heist films always provided some of the best soundtracks of the 70's, and this one (starring Robert Shaw and Richard Roundtree, and issued in the US as Diamond Shaft) is no exception! Roy Budd rises to the groovy occasion and scores some excellent moments that match a light orchestral sound with a ... LP, Vinyl record album

A beautifully jazzy soundtrack from the great Piero Umiliani – one that features solo work by some of the key members of the Basso Valdambrini sextet! One of the all-time great soundtracks from Stelvio Cipriani – and one of his few film scores of the 70s to circulate at an international level too! Yet the fame of the record is very well-deserved, because the music is completely sublime – a mixture of light orchestrations and tinkling ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bruno Nicolai's at his most Morricone-esque with this one – and has crafted a dreamy set of tunes that hardly matches the dark Satanist thriller they were recorded for! Amazing sounds from Polish composer Andrzej Korzynski – penned for a legendary horror film from the early 80s! A totally cool score from Philippe D'Aram – one that's heavy on electronics, amidst the usual horror movie moods – which gives the music a cold, stark feel that's really amazing – incredibly spooky at points, and nice and spacey at others! D'Aram doesn't just use the usual ... LP, Vinyl record album
