LP (Item 83942) Freestyle (UK), 2004 — Condition: New Copy
A trippy little soul set from Maktub's Reggie Watts – a batch of tunes that's much more rooted in mellow soul than the jam band funk of Maktub! The record's a nice surprise – with lots of trippy little synthesizer touches and echoey vocal effects that fearlessly recall the 80s in a way we can really appreciate! Reggie often croons in an effortless little falsetto that's endearing, too. He's backed up largely by keyboards and synthy percussion and bass, with light guitar work and viola & flute on a couple tracks. A nice, tuneful surprise! Tracks include "Wanna Get", "Feel The Same", "Movin' On", "Sure Do Like The Fire", "Simple To Me", "Part Of The World", "Fear In My Eye", "Broken Dreams", "That's The Song" and "Perfect Day" plus the CD only track "Your Name". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
