Mellow jazz guitar stylings on Vanguard, with a large group backing up Prince, and giving a sort of uptempo funky feel to some of the material, though really it's mostly swing based. Ed Bland (who's on a lot of these NYC studio sessions from the time) wrote a lot of the material, and people like Joe Farrell, Kenny Barron, John Hicks, and Virgil Jones play on the session.
