Hibernation (180 gram pressing)
LP (Item 545713) Polydor/Medical, 1979 — Condition: New Copy
Sharp, dark, new wave genius from Chrisma – one of the duo's rare late 70s albums, and a standout gem that really deserves deeper discovery! There's a stark quality to most tunes here – one that reminds us of the mix of analogue elements and spare lyrics we love in the best of the Sheffield scene of the time – never too poppy or commercial, but somehow oddly catchy amidst all the weirdness and noisy bits! Vocals alternate between male or female leads from track to track – and some of the best tracks have a fuzzy noise that almost reminds us of The Normal. Titles include "Gott Gott Electron", "We R", "So You Don't", "Hibernated Nazi", "Aurora", and "Rush 79". (Limited edition of 500 copies.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
