So Much In Love (with bonus tracks)
CD (Item 605879) Parkway/Real Gone, 1963 — Condition: Used
Some of the greatest harmonies on the Philly scene of the early 60s – sung by a group who really helped soul music find a new sort of sophistication at the time! A few years before, and The Tymes might have been a more rough-edged doo wop act – but here, they hit some sublime vocal soul harmonies that really push the envelope – often based around a host of standards and familiar tunes, used by the group to reach into classy contemporary territory! The backings are soft and subtle, leaving the vocals to stand right out in front of the mix – and in addition to the hits "So Much In Love" and "You Asked Me To Be Yours", the set also features versions of "That Old Black Magic", "Alone", "Goodnight My Love", "Summer Day", and "Autumn Leaves". CD features nice bonus material, too – including "Come With Me To The Sea", "Roscoe James McClain", "So Much In Love", "Wonderful Wonderful", and "Surf City".
