An absolute, hard-charging funk hammer from the Dap-Kings – an incredible instrumental co-written and co-produced by Dapper Bosco Mann and Kenny Dope! If "Nervous Like Me" has a title that reflects some kind of timidity, the track is anything but! It's simply pummeling – with a rhythm that kicks out from some stealth bongo and rolling trap that build into some playful guitar and bass response until the horns crash and boom! The beats on the flip isolate the funky drums, providing the perfect track to rhyme over, if you're so-inclined. Another jackhammer blast from one of the tightest units in the funk underground!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Third Man, 2014. New Copy (pic cover)
One of the most soulful records we've heard from Third Man Records – a sweet and rootsy 7" single – with Michael Kiwanuka's own "You've Got Nothing To Lose" on the main side, and a great cover of Townes Van Zandt's "Waitin Round To Die" on the flip! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Hurts So Bad/I Think Of You
Pro 7/Numero, New Copy
A funky funky version of "Hurts So Bad" – one that still carries all the familiar lyric of the tune, but which begins with this totally great intro that sets up a mad groove peppered with hard piano lines and guitar! The mix of the harmony vocals and the sharp groove is mighty darn ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

La Ti Da, 2013. New Copy (pic cover)
A really groovy little single – and one that's got the soaring sound of a lost blue-eyed soul track from the 60s! "Night" is upbeat, with a mighty nice hook – and some great Hammond that holds the whole thing together like some of the best of the early mod work by the Style ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Soul Surf/Tornado
Funk Night, 2012. New Copy
A blazing instrumental from the Soul Surfers – a great mix of deep funk and early 60s Cali – served up with funky drums on the bottom, and some great echoey guitar over the top! The twangy lead line definitely holds up the "surf" part of the title – but the bottom end ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

I'm In Love (inst parts 1 & 2)
Funk Night, 2012. New Copy
A rare instrumental take on a cut that Rickey Calloway cut with The Dap Kings a few years back – one that doesn't feature any vocals at all from Rickey – but has even more room for The Dap Kings to open up and groove! We're not sure why Rickey's name is on the label, but that oddness ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Shed A Tear (I Touched The Clouds)/Get It Right Part 4
Funk Night, 2013. New Copy
A killer bit of slow funk from the great Rickey Calloway – done in this mellow-stepping way that's still mighty hard hitting – and topped with vocals that take us back to James Brown in his best early years! "Get It Right" comes across here in a fiercely funky part 4 – ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Get It Right Part 3/I Touched The Clouds
Funk Night, 2013. New Copy
One of the hardest, heaviest cuts ever cut by the great Rickey Calloway – thanks to some super-intense backing from the Soul Surfers – who are at their best JB mode here! Guitar and horns and everything comes right down on the beat and bassline – and Rickey's vocals rival the ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
