Under The Rainbow
CD (Item 566063) Funky Juice (Italy), 2011 — Condition: New Copy
The first record in years from Pauline London – but a set that's definitely worth the wait! We really loved Pauline's Quiet Skies record – which had a sublime blend of soul, jazz, and bossa elements – and this time around she's going for a style that's even more jazz-based, but still with some definite bossa inspiration as well! The vocals are wonderful – very captivating in their personality and honesty – not nearly as high-end as other singers who work on projects like this – and definitely in an English-language vein, but still with that openness, and possibly fragility, that shows a bossa influence. Instrumentation is mostly keyboards and rhythms, with some jazzy touches on sax and flute – and titles include a great cover of "Breakout", plus "In Black & White", "Colors", "Walkin On The Sand", "I Still Miss You", "So", "Peace Is The Only Way", and "Moment Of Magic". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
