Heavy funk from two different decades – some real lost treasures from the 70s, stacked up here with some equally great work from recent years! The package is a massive second helping from the Truth & Soul family of labels – one that not only shows their continuing dedication to the best in deep funk, but also a recent turn towards older soul from the 70s – served up on a host of recent reissues that are really great! Most work here was only issued on 45s by the label – making the overstuffed collection a bargain at this price, especially given that some of the 45s aren't that easy to find of late. CD is different than the LP, with some tracks that are exclusive to this format, and vice-versa – and it features 18 tracks that include the previously unreleased "Odyssey Revised" by The Fabulous Three – plus "Love Comes & Goes" and "My World" by Lee Fields, "This One's For My Baby" and "PJs" by El Michels Affair, "An Earthquake's Coming" and "Is It Me You Really Love" by Black Velvet, "Just A Little While Longer" and "I Can't Help Myself" by Funky Music Machine, "Nora Se Va" and "La Valla" by Bronx River Parkway, "What's Going On" and "I'm Glad You're Mine" by Timothy McNealty, and "Agua Con Sol" by Bronx River Parkway.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
