CD (Item 463074) Universal (France), 1958/1962/1963/1964/1968/1972 — Condition: New Copy

Incredibly groovy work from French film composer Michel Magne – all of it for the films of Roger Vadim, including some music for Barbarella that wasn't part of the regular US soundtrack for the movie! The music represents some of the more involved soundtracks for Vadim films – but also echoes some of his better-known jazz scores too – thanks to Magne's ability to shift effortlessly between fuller orchestrations, and smaller, lighter instrumental themes. There's a real mix of moods going on here – sometimes subtle, or somber – other times more all-out playful, especially on some of the later soundtracks! CD features 8 tracks from Barbarella – including "L'Envol Du Vaisseau", "Poursuite Spatiale", "L'Adieu A Barbarella", "Bossa De L'Espace", and "Plainte Des Prisonniers"; plus 7 more from Don Juan 73 – including "Swedish Dream", "Don's Waltz", "Intermission", "Burn", and "Confession Par Mister Eye". Also features one or two tracks each from the films Les Rendez-Vous Manque, Le Repos Du Guerrier, Le Vice Et La Virtu, and La Ronde.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
