CD (Item 574200) Trio/Ultra Vybe (Japan), 1977 — Condition: New Copy

A great little album by Helen Merrill – one of her hippest of the 70s! The icy cool vocalist runs through a moody set of tracks with backing by a Japanese trio that includes Masahiko Sato on keyboards and Motohiko Hino on drums. The whole thing's got a great late-night feel, and the best cuts have a soulful groove that you might not hear on some of Merrill's other records. The highlight of the album is a great version of "Maiden Voyage", and other tracks include "Black Coffee", "Season Of Our Love", "I Remember Clifford", and "Waltz For Debby". (HQ – Hi Quality CD pressing.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
