Later work from Brian Auger's Oblivion Express group – really pushing the envelope from previous work with a soaring blend of fusion and soul! The keyboards are still very firmly at the front of the sound – stretching out a lot from Brian's original work on organ – and the group features Lenny White on drums, kicking things up a bit nicely, with that outerspace groove he was laying down on some of his own records at the time. Alex Lingenwood sings vocals on a few cuts, and titles include "Spice Island", "Gimme A Funky Break", "Back Street Bible Class", "Got To Be Born Again", and "Never Gonna Come Down".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Atco, 1965. Near Mint-
Obscure organ jazz record by the player who's probably best known to people from the good records he made with Willis Jackson on Prestige. This set's a nice stripped down set of tracks, with Ivory on organ, Paul Renfro on tenor, and Bill Nicks on drums. Good spare organ and tenor lines, with a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Workin' Out!
Prestige, 1965. Very Good-
A killer album of soul jazz tracks that pairs together two of Prestige's best players! The firey Bobby Timmons is at the height of his career here – cutting long drawn-out piano grooves that are among some of the best of his young years. Lytle's always a killer – and his funky vibes ... LP, Vinyl record album
