I Am Strange/I Am An Instrument
7-inch (Item 499992) Norton, Late 50s — Condition: New Copy
Previous unissued early recordings from Sun Ra – the introspective, solo piano & vocal number "I Am Strange" and the spiritual mission statement "I Am An Instrument" on the flip! "I Am Strange" comes from the period when Ra was rehearsing, arranging, and recording with vocal groups, and finds Ra speaking over his own piano, poetically ruminating on his own strange soul! "I Am An Instrument" takes a similar approach with more spiritualism, with Ra speaking over moody string and piano sounds. Amazing stuff – never before released! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
