Danish Radio Jazz Group – With Bengt Jaedig (Japanese paper sleeve edition)
CD (Item 614527) Hit/Jazzhus Disk (Japan), 1964/1965/1966 — Condition: New Copy
Bent Jaedig gets title billing here – but as with other performances by this groundbreaking ensemble, the energy really comes from the entire group! Everyone contributes amazing sounds to the record – vibes from Louis Hjulmand, bass from Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen, piano from Bent Axen, baritone from Bent Nielsen, and trumpet from Palle Mikkelborg and Allan Botschinsky – and even a bit of extra tenor next to Jaedig, handled by Niels Husum – who soars wonderfully in the ensemble passages. All titles are great – and although this EP set is short, it bristles with energy on three tracks that include "Soul & Body", "Julesang", and "A Blues In A Weekend".
