The second LP, not as dope as Illmatic, but how could anyone hope to live up to those expectations? Nas is leaning a little too heavily on the Trakmasterz here, though they do come up with some nice beats, even if they are a bit on the commercial side. Dr Dre and Premier contribute a couple of nice tracks and the rest are provided by the QB contingent of Havoc from Mobb Deep and LES. Lyrically Nas is still on point, and gong back to this record, especially considering a few of the ones he's dropped since, it wears well with the test of time. Includes "Street Dreams", "If I Ruled The World", "Affirmative Action" and "Black Girl Lost", plus 10 more.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Nas's sorta comeback record from '02 – and a strong one! Stillmatic was a welcome change of pace after some not so great work in the later 90 – with the return-to-form rally cry "One Mic" setting the pace – and the best cuts on this set still sound great! 15 tracks ... CD

Their second major US release after two import/indie LP's and the awesome debut, Do You Want More?, though this is the one that put them over. One on the few current hip hop acts that are able to do a proper live show and it's hard to choose which is better: live, LP or 12" remixes. 14 full-l ... CD

The third album from Eric B & Rakim – classic MC/DJ duo hip hop from classic players! By this point, Rakim was firmly established as one of hip hop's greatest rhymers, and is a fine full length effort that's biggest fault is that it's not quite as spectacular as the first 2 LPs. ... CD
