Dream Babes Vol 1 – Am I Dreaming? – 24 Brit Girl Classics From The 60sVarious
CD (Item 30331) RPM (UK), Mid 60s — Condition: New Copy
Let's face it: in the world of 60s girl pop, England had America beat hands down! The country had stellar singers like Cilla Black, Sandie Shaw, and Petula Clark – singers who forever changed the way that women sing pop! In the shadow of these greats, though, was a legion of other excellent singers – many of whom still did fantastic work but who maybe never made it as far on the charts. This sparkling set of 24 tunes digs through the best of the EMI vaults, and it manages to come up with some great lost sides that perfectly distill the Brit girlpop sound. Titles include "Don't Come Any Closer" by Samantha Jones, "Breakaway" by Beryl Marsden, "They Talk About Us" by Cindy Williams, "The Town I Live In" by Jackie Lee, "Baby, Let Me Be Your Baby" by Deano, "Snakes & Snails" by Alma Cogan, "Softly In The Night" by The Three Bells, "Am I Dreaming?" by Tiffany, and "I Can't Stop Thinking About You" by Linda Kaye. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
