Superman/Just Walk Funky
7-inch (Item 500130) Plut/Arcania, 1972 -- Condition: New Copy
One of the funkiest "Superman" singles we've ever heard -- a killer bit of unreleased funk from the Richmond scene of the early 70s -- and a cut that takes off like a speeding bullet, and almost leaps the building in a single bound! Quick-riffing guitars lead into some badass female vocals -- and the whole thing grooves along at a wickedly quick clip -- yet still keeping things raw and funky all the way through. "Just Walk Funky" has a weird, offbeat bass part at the start -- almost more of a stop/start sort of groove than the walking one promised by the title -- but that also really makes the cut stand out -- with a complicated take on instrumental funk, one that's almost downright arty at times! © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | ||||||
