LP (Item 607697) TCM/Warner, 2011 — Condition: New Copy

Common's first album on his own imprint for Warner – produced in full by No ID! Common has taken some fascinating creative twists and turns over the years, be it on records or on film and TV – and he has a pretty great knack for recognizing when it's time to go back to basics. The great couple of albums that Kanye produced for Com at Geffen forthrightly referenced Common's early style of soulful Chi hip hop, but here Common goes one step further by working again with the primary producer of his first three albums. Like Common, No ID is a diverse talent, and this record is by no means a redo of the sound of their early-to-mid 90s work together – it's not so much in a neo-classic vibe as it is timeless – with swaggery confidence, passion and soul to spare. Another return to realness from Common! Includes "The Dreamer", "Ghetto Dreams" with Nas, "Sweet", "Gold", "Lovin' I Lost", "Raw (How You Like It)", "The Believer" with John Legend, "Cloth", "Pops Belief", Celebrate" and more.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
