Salve Simpatia (Japanese pressing)
CD (Item 595335) Som Livre/Bomba (Japan), 1979 — Condition: New Copy
Late 70s funky soul from Jorge Ben – not as totally all-out funky as his classic work from earlier in the decade, but still pretty darn nice! The tracks bounce along with a tight samba soul approach that's built very much on Jorge's earlier experiments – handled with a bit more modern soul on the arrangements, but in a way that only makes the grooves come across more directly – in ways that are a bit like that of some other Brazilian artists who shifted so soul at the time, including Marcos Valle. Titles include "Salve Simpatia", "Ive Brussel", "Waldomiro Pena", "Adelita", "Occulatus Abis", and "Menina Crioula". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
