Boom Boom
LP (Item 587359) Jazzland/No Business (Lithuania), 2003 — Condition: New Copy
Great work from one of the most groundbreaking combos in the current Norwegian scene – Atomic, a group who really bring strong promise to a long tradition of modern Scandinavian jazz! The set, which has an endorsement by Ken Vandermark, follows strongly in the style of some of Vandermark's trans-Atlantic work – freely expressing its own modern ideals, but also with one ear firmly conscious of a history of left-of-center jazz. The tracks are starkly modern, but have a surprising amount of swing and soul – and the quintet's lineup features tenor, trumpet, piano, bass, drums, and percussion. Titles include "Toner Fran For", "Praeludium", "Re Lee", "Cleaning The Dome", "Feets From Above", and "Pyramid Song". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
