A crispy little record from Anthony Valadez -- one that's got a really unique take on 21st Century soul -- certainly cosmic, but with some great earthy touches too! Valadez keeps things nice and slow on most tracks -- letting the grit sink down into his grooves, which usually have a bit of crackle that's possibly studio-generated, but which also feels like it comes from the range of older influences used in his music. There's a spiritual vibe running through the cuts -- way more than you'd usually get on mellow beat-heavy work like this -- and although most work is instrumental, and done by Anthony himself, the record does feature guest vocals from Wendisue and Kissey Asplund on a few tracks.
