Down In The Village

CD (Item 616789) Paramount/Aurora, 1970 — Condition: New Copy

Rare psych soul/funk rock from Curtis Knight! Knight is a gritty singer and guitar player who's best-remembered for his place in Jimi Hendrix's lore – but he's well worth digging for his own diverse goods! There's some Hendrix-y psych blues going on Down In The Village, for sure – but Curtis does a lot more than that. There's some funky organ and thicker atmosphere, and unpredictable shifts in style that work really well for Curtis. Includes the great title track, plus "Lena", "See No Evil", "Goin' Up The Road", "Give You Plenty Lovin', "Hi-Low", "Good Bye Cruel World" and more.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
