CD (Item 497335) Sublime Frequencies, Late 80s/Early 90s -- Condition: New Copy
Great music from the personal archives of Group Doueh -- tracks all originally recorded on cassette, but cleaned up nicely and presented in one of those great Sublime Frequencies packages! The first half of the set features shorter numbers by the group -- really compelling numbers that feature lots of great guitar from Salmou Doueh Baamar -- sometimes snakey and hypnotic, sometimes very raw and noisy! The vocals are often equally hypnotic too -- buried in the mix, and often completely taken over by the guitar on the freakier tunes -- and the second half of the record features the very extended "Tazit Kalifa", a drone-line tune that has a really meditative mix of guitar, keyboards, and vocals. Shorter cuts include "Rasga Jaguar", "Min Binat Omum", "Nabi El Mohamed", and "Beatte Harab". © 1996-2010, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | |||||
