The Wheels were friends and contemporaries of Van Morrison and Them, and got badly overshadowed as far as history is concerned. This Big Beat compilation is our first and to date only introduction to the group, and it's exciting stuff! Raucous, driving R&B-fueled sounds similar to their more iconic peers, tough The Wheels are gruffer and more ferocious overall. Ultimately, if falls somewhere between Them and the gnarlier sides of the Nuggets generation.
