Songs In The Key Of Z Volumes 1 & 2 – The Curious Universe Of Outsider MusicVarious
CD (Item 365787) Cherry Red (UK), 1960s/1970s/1980s/1990s/2000s — Condition: New Copy
A key look at one of the most important and (understandably) overlooked forces in 20th Century pop music – outsider music, the off-kilter history of tunes created by some of the more eccentric talents of the past 50 years – volumes one and two combined in a two CD set! You'll be familiar with some of the names – like Captain Beefheart, and Tiny Tim – and you probably know of some of the others – like Harry Partch, The Shaggs, and Wesley Willis – but author Irwin Chusid weaves them all together with a number of other lesser-known talents, into a fascinating look at the far ends of the music business! Volume one on the first disc includes "Walking On The Moon" by Lucia Pamela, "Star Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere" by Peter Grudzien, "Virgin Child Of The Universe" by Song-Poem, "In Canada" by BJ Snowden, "Cousin Mosquito #1" by Congresswoman Malinda Jackson Parker, "At The Grass Roots" by Sri Darwin Gross, and "They Told Me I Was A Fool" by Jandek. Volume two (disc two) includes "Five Feet Nine & A Half Inches Tall" by Dick Kent, "Stepping High Dance" by Eddie Murray, "Touch Of Light" by Luie Luie, "You're Out Of The Computer" by Bingo Gazingo & My Robot Friend, "America" by BJ Snowden, "You're Driving Me Mad" by Alvin Dahn, "Cousin Mosquito #2" by Congresswoman Malinda Jackson Parker, and "I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)" by The Space Lady. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
