Owwwww! We don't even need to call Cameo a guilty pleasure, because even though they always fell more on the commercial side of funk, we've never been embarassed by our appreciation of their slick, in-your-face style. This excellent 2 CD set covers just about their entire career, from their harder funkier roots in the early days, with numbers like "Rigor Mortis", "Post Mortem" and "Funk Funk", to the wigged early 80s dancefloor numbers "Shake Your Pants", "Freaky Dancin", and "Keep It Hot", to their later, bass heavy radio numbers like "She's Strange", "Attack Me With Your Love" and "Candy". DJ's voice is fantastic on the material, with a deep rich baritone that we'd rate right up there with singers like Jon Lucien or Jerry ... CD
