12-inch (Item 475744) Now Again, 2008 — Condition: New Copy

Classic styled funk mastery from Breakestra – back in the Stones Throw family with this incredible 12-inch single on the Now Again imprint – and as fiercely gritty and funky as ever! "Lowdown Stank" is a 9+ minute killer that truly sounds like a lost funk treasure. Music Man Miles somehow handling bass, drums, organ and guitar in the studio – and his production is so solid, we're seriously stunned that it's not a straight up live recording! The monstrous drum heavy middle section and the horny horns are pure JBs style, and Mix Master Wolf's vocals are the perfect kind of gravelly and gritty. The flip "Miss Funky Soul" is just as funky and has more organ in the mix, and a shorter "Lowdown Stank" instro fill out the B-side.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
